RGS TITLE & The Fountainhead Title Group Merge:
Frederick L. Shreves II, CEO of RGS TITLE, and Edward
J. Brush, Esq., Chairman of The Fountainhead Title
Group, announced a merger today. In a joint statement,
Shreves, Brush, and Fountainhead CEO William L.
Yerman, indicated that they have embraced the alignment
of the two firms to secure and expand their joint
market position in a climate of consolidation in
the real estate industry: “At a time when
large national underwriters and builders have begun
to acquire local title agencies, we think that this
is a bold move that will allow two, locally-owned
settlement firms to share best practices, create
efficiencies and remain dedicated to customers and
employees in the heart of each community.”
RGS Title was founded in 1988 in Oakton, Virginia;
The Fountainhead Title Group was founded in 1975
in Columbia, Maryland. The new entity, RGS Fountainhead
Settlement Services, will become the largest, independently-owned
real estate settlement service firm in the region,
with 60 offices serving communities throughout the
Mid-Atlantic region.
The merger acknowledges that Baltimore and Washington
have become one large market and the leadership
of RGS Fountainhead Settlement Services will combine
the executive talents of Mr. Shreves and Mr. Yerman
and their respective management teams. RGS Fountainhead
has the strategic reach and resources to maintain
exceptional service. The enterprise will foster
customer continuity, improve professional opportunities
for employees, and increase efficiencies in central
title and settlement processing.
